Thomas Gahagan/Gheen immigrated from Ireland about 1740-1750 and settled in Pennsylvania. Family histories suggest he came from County Donegal or County Wicklow in Ireland, although no documents support either theory. Most Gahagans, or MacGeoghegans as the family was called earlier, originally came from County Westmeath.
